It's somewhere between reading a can't-put-it-down book and playing an RPG. I hate reading books, but Choice of the Pirate (and all the other "Choice" games I've played) is way better. This one was particularly well-written, had good romance options, and really captured the swashbuckling adventure spirit.. This has got to be the best "Choice of" game I've had the pleasure of playing. It goes by pretty fast, but it's offered the most in-character and fun experience of playing one of my constant characters I've ever had. If you like pirates, the sea, or anything related- 10/10, best game, exact right amount of water.. A surprisingly fun game! Only on my first run at the moment, but there is a very high replayability potential, and I already find myself wondering what other paths I can go down. Lots of customisation options with an interesting pirate story, the kind I have a big soft spot for.. Very fun CYOA game. The choices and the charcters are well developed. You can feel yourself get pulled into the story and really consider each choice before pulling the trigger. The only downside is I thought it was a tad short, but for 3$, it is well worth the price.. a hour of fun reading. 10/10. Fun, clever little story with a lot of options and different directions you can go in. Very enjoyable.I very much enjoyed being able to choose my character and their romantic interests with at least some degree of precision, then have the story respect that choice (instead of just swapping out character names and pronouns to approximate it).That said, $4 is about the right price for this game; that's about what I'd expect to pay for a short novel, and it's good for the 2-3 times I'll probably actually end up reading it. Much more expensive than that would be silly.. I really enjoyed this game. You can tell that there was a lot of work put into it. The descriptive details made the settings very real, the plot was also so intense and super engaging, and overall I really enjoyed this game. But with every game there are a few things that fall short though.Pros-Great plot-engaging story that makes you feel apart of the adventure-fantastic setting and detail-enjoyable characters-good thought is put into the history and background of the setting-huge amount of freedom in deciding where the story goes-freedom in deciding your character's sexuality and gender -some scenes were executed so well, it was greatCons-I felt the romance aspect of the game was a little weak, but that could just be because of the decisions I made throughout the game.-I wish that some parts of the game moved a little slower and were more detailed. I felt that some things were skipped that I wanted to see.Overall this was a great adventure and I'm so so glad I got this game/interactive novel because I really liked it!. I really liked this one, choice of robots is still my favourite CYOA game but being a pirate is always fun. My only complaint is it seems too short and ends very abruptly. My time played is not accurate as i clicked away with the window open.
